A vehicle handover record that is hard to dispute

Seal the condition photos at pickup and return the moment they are taken: date, place and integrity locked, verifiable by the driver and by a court.

Who caused the damage, and when: the question every handover dispute turns on

Rental returns, fleet pool cars, leasing hand-backs and dealership test drives share the same risk: a scratch, a dent or a stain shows up, and no one can prove whether it was already there. A phone photo carries a date anyone can change and no proof of place.

When a renter disputes a damage charge, the burden of proof is on the operator to show the damage happened during that rental, and many claims fall apart there. When the operator is honest, a weak record costs them a legitimate repair or loss-of-use claim. Both sides lose to the same gap.

A poorly documented handover means a contested invoice, a chargeback, hours of back-and-forth, and a customer who does not come back.

Ordinary handover photos vs a record sealed at capture

Check-in sheet + phone photosDanaya sealed record
Date and time Editable (EXIF metadata) Server timestamp, not editable
Place Not proven GPS position at the moment of capture
Photo integrity Can be swapped afterwards Sealed SHA-256 fingerprint
Verifiable by the other side Hard Yes, from a public link
Who captured it Declared on paper Captor name can sit inside the seal

How it works, in three steps

It is the walk-around you already do at handover. Danaya just makes it impossible to argue with, and the driver needs no app and no account.

  1. 1

    You send a capture link

The renter, driver or agent opens it on their phone, with no account and nothing to install.

  2. 2

Live capture at pickup and return

The photos are taken on the spot, never imported from the gallery, so a shot from another car or another day cannot be slipped in.

  3. 3

The record is sealed and publicly verifiable

A SHA-256 fingerprint, the GPS position and a server timestamp are bound to the capture, with a link the driver or a court can check.

What it changes for you

Fewer damage disputes

A dated, located before-and-after removes the doubt about who caused what, and when.

Claims that hold up

When damage is real, the sealed record backs a repair or loss-of-use claim instead of your word against theirs.

The same process across the fleet

Every pickup and return is documented the same way, whatever the branch, the agent or the car.

A cleaner customer relationship

The driver sees the same verifiable record you do, so the return conversation is about facts, not suspicion.

On the ground

At pickup, the agent or the renter seals the condition of the body, wheels, glass and interior. At return, the same shots are taken again: the dated, located before-and-after shows exactly what changed. A charge becomes justifiable, a clean return becomes incontestable.

Pool cars and remote returns: the driver captures through the link when they take the car and when they bring it back. You get a sealed, timestamped record without being there, and the car's history builds up handover after handover.

Why trust us

Danaya shows facts, not promises: a fingerprint of the photo, a server timestamp, a position and a public verification link. The value comes from the proof itself.

We do not display client logos we do not have, and we are upfront about the limits (see the FAQ).

Proof at capture for vehicle handover and damage disputes

Why a handover photo is not enough

A photo taken with a phone carries an editable date and no proof of place. It can be taken the day before, somewhere else, or swapped afterwards. In a damage dispute, the other side can question its date and its origin.

Sealing the photo at the moment of handover locks three things the photo alone does not prove: when it was taken, where, and that it has not been altered since.

Pickup and return: the before-and-after that settles it

A damage charge stands or falls on the comparison between the condition at pickup and the condition at return. If both are sealed, dated and located, that comparison is verifiable by the driver and by a third party, and the discussion gets short.

This matters most at after-hours drop-off, where there is no agent present: a sealed record of the car and the bay, taken live, protects the person who returned it and the operator alike.

Rental, fleet and leasing: the same gap

Car rental, corporate fleets, car subscription, leasing hand-backs and dealership trade-ins all run on a condition record that is easy to contest. The operator carries the burden of proving a loss happened on their watch, and the customer carries the risk of paying for damage they did not cause.

Danaya does not replace your check-in and check-out process or decide who is at fault. It documents the facts your handover already records, in a form that holds up: dated, located and tamper-evident.
