An AI media detector reads a photo, video or audio file and estimates how likely it is to be AI generated or edited. It returns a probability with a confidence score, not a verdict. Here is what that means in practice.
The detector scans for the traces that generators and editing tools tend to leave behind: GAN artifacts, texture and lighting inconsistencies, and error level differences across an image. For video it samples frames, and for audio it listens for signs of voice synthesis.
Detection is a moving target. As generators improve, no detector catches everything, and a clean score is not a guarantee. Treat the result as a first read, useful for triage, never as proof on its own.
If the media is your own, you do not have to rely on detection after the fact. Capture it through Danaya and it carries a SHA-256 hash, GPS and a server timestamp from the moment of capture, so anyone can verify it later with no account.
