EXIF Data

Exchangeable Image File Format — metadata standard for photos containing camera settings, timestamp, and GPS data.

What is EXIF Data?

EXIF data is a standard for storing metadata in image files. It records the camera model, lens, exposure settings, timestamp, GPS coordinates, and other capture parameters.

EXIF and Authentication

EXIF data provides important context for media authentication but can be easily edited, which is why cryptographic sealing is necessary to protect metadata integrity.
